Stars was formed in 1993 to represent and build a Turkish manufacturing operation. The company’s charge was to support by means of design, merchandising and import, various woven products from Turkey to the retail and wholesale communities in Europe, Asia and all of North America. The products were benchmarked to be moderate to better, and all quality control and support was geared to follow that dictate.

Business grew dramatically – and many of the customers requested products beyond the capacity of the Turkish operation.

Retail and wholesale sectors, alike, were reducing their sourcing base and wanted one company to service as many aspects of their business as made sense. In 1997, a global joint venture occurred with Stars bringing many of the best factories in the world together to satisfy this need. Each factory or group of factories, specialized in various categories of wearing apparel, accessories and/or house wares. Stars, drawing on long term relationships, created a truly unique manufacturing source.

In 1998 a Stars Summit Meeting was held and it was determined that we should expand into new areas of opportunity. Two areas were chosen – (1) Outdoor sporting goods clothing through the many retailers and catalog companies selling same, and (2) Corporate apparel via 'select' resellers. In both of these areas, Stars has grown respectably.
